Description of Salobrena

Salobreña is a white washed town crowned by a Moorish castle and surrounded by sub tropical fruit trees and sugar cane, contrasting with the intense azure blue of the Mediterranean. The old town is made up of several neighbourhoods built within the village walls during the Middle Ages- Albaycín, el Brocal and la Fuente are still maintained in their original Mediaeval layout of labyrinths, winding streets, passage ways, arches and geranium covered windows.

Here it is possible to enjoy the sun on the beach in the afternoon after skiing down the slopes of the Sierra Nevada in the morning for this is where the mountains kiss the sea.

The 18 hole golf course in Motril is nearby and perhaps one of the most picturesque settings for any golf course as you can tee off a few metres from the sea, and during the winter months have the snow capped Sierra Nevada as a magnificent background.
